The West Coast Main Line (WCML) in Train Sim World (TSW) is not a single continuous route, but rather is represented by several distinct add-ons and core routes covering different sections and eras.
Available Routes
The WCML is split into three main playable sections in TSW:
- London Euston – Milton Keynes: This section is a core route in Train Sim World 5 and is also available as a standalone add-on. It focuses on busy commuter and inter-city services in a modern timetable, featuring the Class 350/1 EMU, Class 377/2 EMU, Class 66 freight locomotive, and the London Underground 1972 Mk2 stock on the shared surface section of the Bakerloo Line. The Class 390 Pendolino is available as a separate add-on that layers into this route.
- Birmingham – Crewe: Introduced in Train Sim World 6, this add-on covers the central section of the WCML in the 2019 era. It features the Class 350 EMU in various liveries and includes options to add other layers like the Pendolino or Class 323/170 trains if owned separately.
- Preston – Carlisle: Developed by Just Trains, this add-on for Train Sim World 5 (and compatible with TSW6) is the longest UK route in the game, spanning nearly 100 miles. It features a nostalgic 1980s setting and includes iconic locomotives like the Class 87 electric, Class 47 diesel, Class 08 shunter, and Class 101 DMU. It also includes the branch line to Morecambe.
